KEEPING THE FAITH IN THE HOLY LAND

Syndicated humorist Dave Barry once wrote in a column, “They can hold all the peace talks they want, but there will never be peace in the Middle East.”

If I thought that was true, then I wouldn’t spend so much of my time there.

Lenten Resources

Are you or your church looking for a new or different program for Lent this year? ECF Vital Practices has compiled a list of many resources. Additionally, Acts 8 has created a free, customizable video to use to invite people to your church for Ash Wednesday.

Michigan Water Crisis

The crisis over unsafe water in the City of Flint has been generating national attention in the new year. Several agencies are involved in helping Flint residents secure access to safe water and other essential resources. Read about the ways the Diocese of Eastern Michigan has suggested we can assist our brothers and sisters.

 

 

NEWS AROUND THE DIOCESE

Trinity Cathedral Hosts Guest Preacher
The Rev. Dr. Roger Ferlo is the President of Bexley Seabury Theological Federation in Columbus, OH and a professor of biblical interpretation and the practice of ministry. Ferlo came to Bexley Seabury from Virginia Theological Seminary, where he was the associate dean and director of the Institute of Christian Formation and Leadership, and also served as a professor. On February 7, Rev. Ferlo will be the guest preacher at both the 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. services at Trinity Cathedral (Phoenix).

Anglican Rosaries Workshop

A workshop on making and using knotted Anglican Rosaries, presented by Deacon Linda Hale and Ginny Berkey, will be held on Saturday, February 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the library at Christ the King (Tucson). All are welcome to attend. Materials will be provided, and no registration is required.
