Cursillo
Dear The Rev. Victor,

Serve your Lord, your God!

To the Arizona Cursillo community that early Conference discount ends on August 21. After August 21 the cost goes up to $150.00 for the Conference and $235.00 for the Conference plus ECLW. Now you can register for both days for $125.00 or for the ECLW and the full Conference for $210.00. Such a deal! Here is the link to the website –
www.nationalepiscopalcursillo.org  – and  we encourage you  to register today. Last couple of days to get the discount  ending on August 21!
Arizona Episcopal Secretariat wants to congratulate and asks for your prayers for the incoming President of the National Episcopal Cursillo Ministry – Carol Williams. As her current position as President-Elect coming to an end, she begins this new adventure as President in October. See Carol William Letter in the side bar to Arizona Cursillistas.     We would really like to see lots of people from Arizona there!

There are many reasons to sign up now, but perhaps the most important is you save money! When you sign up through August 21st the conference registration is only $125.

That’s nearly half the cost of previous conferences!

This year’s conference is housed in St. Mark’s Cathedral, saving lots on hosting fees. Also, the conference is slightly shorter; officially beginning Friday, and ending Saturday night.

This is your once-a-year chance to meet Cursillo leaders from all over the country, share what works, and develop solutions to the challenges within your diocese.

See the left-column links for more information about the 2015 Conference.

We’re offering workshops to explore new ways we can “Renew the Face of the Earth” through Christian ministry. We will also learn about new formats for sharing the Cursillo message, while celebrating and learning from traditional formats.

We also need to elect three new representatives from the West – clergy, layman (to replace Larry Remick from Seattle, who has resigned) and lay woman (to replace Carol Williams). Take a look at the ECMC Rep Manual, paying special attention to pages 7 and 8, which outline the responsibilities of district representatives/committee members. Pray for guidance, talk with the secretariat, and come to the Western district meetings at the Conference prepared to nominate (on Friday) and elect (on Saturday) the people God is calling to these positions. It certainly is a big responsibility. It is also hugely insightful and gratifying. I am always available to help and encourage you by phone, email and in person.

See the left-column links for more information about the 2015 Conference.

Episcopal Diocese of Arizona Convention
Friday October 16 & Saturday October 17 2015
Sheraton Crescent Hotel, Phoenix, AZ

Arizona Episcopal Cursillo will be sponsoring an information table at the Diocese Convention and needs your support. Convention hours on Friday, October 16, 2015 are 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM and on Saturday October 17, 2015 are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We need your help in setting up and taking the table each day as well as staffing the table during all Convention hours. We are looking for Cursillistas who can commit to at least a two hour slot to help staff the table. Please email Steve Cifone at  stcfn456@aol.com and let us know what time you would be available. We will be showing a computer slide show of our Spring Weekend, providing Cursillo information as well as greeting fellow Cursillistas known and unknown. The Convention is always an excellent opportunity to meet and gain information from Cursillistas new to our Diocese as well as those who have not been very active and make them feel welcome.

A second way for you to support our Arizona Episcopal Cursillo Convention table is by making a donation to help defray the cost of the table. The cost to our Cursillo Community for the table is $120.00. If you wish to help support this effort, please make your check payable to Arizona Episcopal Cursillo. Your support will be deeply appreciated!

One last note, If you are a Delegate to Convention, Clergy or Lay, please consider wearing your Cursillo Cross during Convention. Through the wearing of your Cursillo Cross you may have an opportunity to meet Cursillistas new to our Diocese or who have not been active as well as be given an opportunity to share your story and journey not only as a Cursillista but as a Christian as well.

Remember: Make a Friend. Be a Friend. Bring that Friend to Christ.
