Many of you know that Fr. Victor Sarrazin’s wife, Rhonda, moved to the East Coast several years ago to attend seminary. Since then, Fr Vic has been looking for an opportunity to join her. He recently decided that it is a good time to do that and will be leaving in September. His last Sunday with us will be August 27.

We have all appreciated and grown as a result of Father Vic’s ministry here at St. Stephen’s and he will be missed. He was instrumental in the completion of our Education Center. Fr. Vic also supported the renovation of our Sanctuary and Entrance Porch. He has been Chaplain to the local Chapter of Vietnam Vets . Fr. Vic has been a comforting factor to those who needed moral and spiritual direction during his 11 years at our parish.

There is celebration of Father Vic’s ministry among us on August 27 following a combined service at 9AM.  Further details will follow shortly.

St. Stephen’s will follow the normal pattern of Transition. The Diocese will start with securing an interim for us. As soon as I have the name of that person, you will be advised. The Vestry will begin working with Canon Rev. Megan Traquair who assists congregations that are in Transition. The Diocese has a solid process and will help the Vestry in this season of change.

As Senior Warden, I will be bringing you regular updates about our process as we move through each stage.

Please keep Father Vic in your prayers that he finds employment in the New York area soon. I also ask that you pray for our vestry as we consider and learn to replace our rector.

Surely Fr. Vic will appreciate notes and cards that may be sent to him

Blessings and Peace to all,

Dottie Gutwein
