THE 2ND MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE CHURCH

Does my title peak your curiosity? Three Ways to Perk Up Year-Round Stewardship
[EVP] Stewardship is often considered a routine activity that percolates once a year. Messages for bulletins and pulpits are put into the pot, letters and envelopes are poured in, and up perks financial commitments to support the church for another year. The brew might be weak or strong, but at least it’s over and done with by December. Get a cup of decaf, relax and take a few minutes–or an entire Stewardship Committee meeting in January–to consider the word “ministry” as part of stewardship. Read more.

DEACON BEACON
This is a monthly feature of one of our deacons & their ministry.

The Rev. Deirdre Moulinier
This month, the light of the Beacon has found its way to the little, northern Arizona community of Clarkdale to spotlight the ministry of The Rev. Deirdre Moulinier, who, rather than running away from challenges in dark times, faces them head while on spreading the light of God’s presence to those in need. Read more.

CONVENTION NEWS
Children’s Program
Registration for the Children’s program at Convention is open. Children’s and Nursery programs are offered for ages infant through 6th grade on Friday, October 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 20, from 8:15 a.m. to close of Convention. Children will enjoy music, arts and crafts, stories, and lots of fun! Preregistration is required for all ages.
Farewell Dinner
Everyone is welcome to attend the dinner honoring Bishop and Laura Smith on Friday, October 19, though there will be limited seating. The cost for the dinner is $40.00. We expect that demand for reservations to say goodbye to Bishop and Mrs. Smith will be high, so please do not wait to make your reservations! Due to increased interest, the deadline for dinner reservations has been extended to Friday, October 12.
More details and forms for all of the above can be found on the Diocesan Convention webpage.
