The following is Bill’s Obituary…

Obituary for Wells Gordon “Bill” Carswell, 1934-2025
Bill Carswell, born on January 21, 1934 and, having lived a long life of adventure and faith, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, Father’s Day weekend. He is survived by his children, Janet Privas, Cathy Albright, Karrie Baas, William Carswell, John Baas, Casey Baas and Erica Prudencio.
As soon as Bill turned 18, he joined the U.S. Air Force as the Korean conflict was winding down, then went on to fly active-duty missions in Vietnam. After leaving the military he flew as long as he could. Among his jobs, he flew air taxis to the Bahamas for Mackey Air, was a pilot for BirdAir, a civilian airline with covert ties, and later ran supplies to diamond mines in Africa. After retiring from the skies, he took to the highways as a long-haul truck driver.
Bill was deeply spiritual, a lifelong episcopal and faithful member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Sierra Vista.  He was also a proud member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and cherished the brotherhood of those who served.
Bill missed his beloved wife, Ann, after she passed away in February 2024, and often said he was ready to move on and be with her again. Now, at last, he is.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on July 26th at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Sierra Vista, Arizona. He requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
