Archbishop of Canterbury calls for prayer ahead of Primates Meeting
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby is asking people to pray for the primates of the Anglican Communion who will be meeting in Canterbury Jan. 11-16. The leaders of the 38 Anglican provinces will be at the gathering, which was called by Archbishop Justin Welby in September last year.

Scottish Episcopal Church concerned about cross-border ecumenical agreement
The Church of England and the (Presbyterian) Church of Scotland have reached “an historic agreement that recognises their longstanding ecumenical partnership and lays the groundwork for future joint projects,” the two churches have announced, but the (Anglican) Scottish Episcopal Church has called for a rethink, citing concerns about shared worship and the exchange of ministers.
Mothers’ Union celebrates 140th anniversary
The Anglican mission agency Mothers’ Union is celebrating its 140th anniversary in 2016. Throughout the year it will hold a number of events to mark 14 decades of “faithful outreach to families of all faiths and none.”
