The Services this weekend will be a call out to the Book of Common prayer established by Thomas Cranmer in 1549

This weekend not on Mother’s Day next weekend. Contrary to the news letter the service will be in its original English and the readings will be from a bible version older than the King James bible.   Look for Thursdays bulletin announcement for a preview.  Let’s all worship like our brethren did some almost 500 years ago…..

Who was Thomas Cranmer Thomas Cranmer (2 July 1489 – 21 March 1556)… During Cranmer’s tenure as Archbishop of Canterbury, he was responsible for establishing the first doctrinal and liturgical structures of the reformed Church of England. (…) he succeeded in publishing the first officially authorized vernacular service, the Exhortation and Litany.

When Edward came to the throne, Cranmer was able to promote major reforms. He wrote and compiled the first two editions of the Book of Common Prayer, a complete liturgy for the English Church. more….
