2018 Stewardship Campaign
St Stephen’s mission statement describes our community as “a faith-based community acting through an interconnected family of ministries to welcome everyone who wishes to follow Christ, worship together, grow in faith and share God’s love through service to others.”
Autumn brings the harvest, and is the traditional time to “harvest” pledges of support for churches all over the world. This year we are asking you to consider what role the church plays in your life as you decide what to give. Does St Stephen’s bring you closer to Christ? Do you have opportunities to serve and be served through the church? Do you have ideas for activities or new ways of being that involve the church? The following prayer may help you focus your thoughts: A Prayer for Holy Habits “Lord, give us the habit of prayer, study, fellowship and giving. Help us to grow in love and grace. May we offer ourselves and our lives as a living sacrifice to you. Amen.” Financial support is only one holy habit. But financial pledges are grounded in all the others, and allow the church to live out its mission more and more abundantly. There are risks in living out our mission, as well as great blessings. Let us prudently and bravely live more deeply into being disciples of Jesus Christ in the world today. May God richly bless you, The Stewardship Committee |
