2019 Stewardship Campaign
Dear Fellow Worshipers at St. Stephen’s,
We are fast approaching that time of year where we, as individual members, reach deep into our hearts and minds of how we can show support for St. Stephen’s and its parishioners . Of course, when we talk of support the first thing that comes to mind is FINANCIAL. Let’s get that out of the way first. The amount identified in the Ministry Support Plan 2018 for our Operating Fund was $144,367.00. This included salaries, payroll overhead, and insurance, utilities, supplies, accounting, advertising and building maintenance. Your pledges have kept us fiscally responsible. This is the starting point for developing the plan for year 2019. Now as to TIME AND TALENT we started the year with the Day of Discovery, the Vestry under the leadership of Rev. Julie has begun to honor the hopes and dreams of this congregation. As a recap, some of those hopes and dreams include: COMMUNITY SERVICE – We want to support our schools, charities, homeless, and habitat for humanity; partner with local civic and ecumenical groups; and build a labyrinth, garden plot and orchard to share with the neighborhood. WORSHIP – We want to be a church that God wants; to preach Jesus; recruit and train Eucharistic Ministers; have more involvement in Altar Guild, have true sermons with reference to today’s life, and continue the music ministry. PASTORAL – We want social events – families; social opportunities to meet as friends in the community; to contact families of those who have lost loved ones; reach out to the sick, elderly, homebound and recuperating members of the church and make it more formal; have more multi-generational activities/services; discover our hidden talents to beef up our ministries; and more volunteers. COMMUNICATIONS – We want an active e-mail list, announcements of events in advance; a church newsletter; improved website; go “live” (streaming our services); Advertise a Sunday School; be more visible in larger SV community; better communication of events and outreach programs and “help new people find us.” We are confident that as we continue together we will discover there is more to our hopes and dreams. We hope to grow in faith and number with our new rector Rev. Allison Cornell. The Following form is for you to use and submit in your considerqtion of your support. |
