Dear Friends,
I write with an update on my son, Nathan Linman’s, health.
A few weeks ago, an angiogram was able to identify an AVM, an arteriovenous malformation, which likely caused his stroke back in October. So long as it exists in his brain, he is at risk for another stroke. Blessedly, the surgeons believe they will be able to cut it out, even though it is deep in his brain, which will cure the AVM, and make him no more likely to have another stroke than any other person.
Nate is currently scheduled for that surgery on Friday, March 27. I am expecting that I will take most of the following week off to care for him, and I will obviously need to be responsive to any complications that arise during or after surgery. Canon Cathy Black will be rescheduling appointments with me as necessary.
I am, as always, so grateful for all of your prayers and understanding. I am also deeply appreciative of the neurosurgery team at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute, who are caring for us so well and giving us hope and confidence that this surgery will be a speedbump on Nate’s recovery rather than a roadblock.
And I cannot say enough good words about the staff at Dio House, who are a blessing.
Faithfully,
+Jennifer |
