LOVING OUR NEIGHBORS, KNOWING OUR HISTORY
On Wednesday, I wrote a letter to the Chabad of Flagstaff offering my prayers and support after their new building was vandalized this week.

ITEMS OF INTEREST THIS WEEK

Disaster Preparedness Workshop

Fire. Area power outage. Active shooter. Extreme weather. These and other threats could affect your church facility, the congregation, and your community. It’s important to know what to do and who to call during a crisis. Don’t leave it to chance. Learn how your church can prepare on Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church (Tucson). The workshop is free, but registration is required. Register here.

Phoenix Pride Parade
On Sunday, April 7, everyone is cordially invited to participate on the decorated float or by walking and showing your support to a large crowd on this special occasion. Wear your Episcopal, diocesan, or church t-shirt and, if possible, bring your church banner! Participants should meet on the corner of 3rd St. & Thomas by 8:00 a.m. Bishop Reddall will celebrate a brief Eucharist at 9:00 a.m. before the parade steps off at 10:00 a.m. For additional information, contact Integrity Arizona via e-mail.

NEWS AROUND THE DIOCESE

Enneagram Workshop
The Enneagram is a map of human growth and development which combines the wisdom of the sacred traditions and modern psychology to describe nine personality types and how they interact with one another. Each type has different inner motivations and patterns of thinking, feeling and acting which result in unique life strategies. No Enneatype is better or more effective than another, yet they differ radically in point of view. All are invited to St. Andrew’s (Sedona) for a workshop led by Robin Cameron on Saturday, April 6 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The cost is $30. Register by contacting the church at 928-282-4457 or via e-mail.

DEACON BEACON

This is a monthly feature of our deacons & their ministry.

Go! As in “Ashes to Go” (Part 2)
Many of our deacons were out on the streets on Ash Wednesday sharing ashes with those who otherwise would not have received them. Some places were way outside the box of our churches, others were closer to home. Perhaps their stories will inspire even more people to participate next year. As these deacons found, often the blessing received when we take Jesus to the streets is life changing not only for those we serve, but for us as well. Read more.
