Anyone who is preparing to leave office, as I will be doing in a couple of months, considers the question, “How will I be remembered?” I’ve asked some old timers in the Diocese how they remember my predecessors. No matter what serious contributions they may have made during their tenure, they are often remembered for some funny quirk of their personality.

ITEMS OF INTEREST THIS WEEK

 

Church-Wide Bible Reading Initiative  
[TEC] Forward Movement, along with partners from across the Episcopal Church, invites all Episcopalians to participate in the Good Book Club. A church-wide Bible reading initiative, the Good Book Club will focus on Paul’s Letter to the Romans, with participants reading a section of scripture each day during the Epiphany season, starting on January 7, 2019. Lay Leadership Weekend
The 2019 Lay Leadership Weekend, scheduled from February 1-3 at Chapel Rock in Prescott, offers the opportunity for those in leadership roles to spend time with Bishop Kirk Smith, Bishop-Elect Jennifer Reddall, and the Diocesan staff. We look forward to enhancing the important roles Lay Leaders have in developing disciples in their congregations. Register here.

Friends of Music: Sehr Romantisch 
The next Friends of Music concert at St. Philip’s In The Hills (Tucson) will be held in the church on Sunday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. Don’t miss this delightful afternoon of Romantic Guitar Music with classical guitarist Misael Barraza-Diaz and the renowned Bolton Guitars and Friends. Dr. Barraza-Diaz and company are guaranteed to deliver a rich collage of wondrous music from the multi-award-winning guitar studio and colleagues at The University of Arizona. Suggested donation is $20. Students with ID are always free!
